Fried Dumplings

Fried Dumplings

Filling:

1 1/2 lbs ground beef ( you can use any ground mean of your choice)

1/8 cup cold water

1 medium onion

salt

pepper

Dough:

2 eggs

6 cups Flour

2 cups Hot boiling water

6 tbsp vegetable oil

1 tsp salt

Vegetable oil for frying

  1. The easiest way to make this dough is in the stand mixer , but if you don’t have one don’t worry you can easily do it by hand and it will come out just as good.

  2. In a bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle attachment add flour and eggs.

  3. On a slow speed start mixing , and slowly adding vegetable oil.

  4. Now slowly begin to add hot water.

  5. Crank up the speed to a medium high and knead the dough for about 5 minutes.

  6. Wrap the dough in a plastic wrap and let it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.

  7. Meanwhile lets put together the filling.

  8. In a deep bowl , season the ground meat and add cold water.

  9. In a blender or grinder , grind the onion. (It should be pure consistency)

  10. Add the onion to the ground meat and mix it all well .

  11. After the dough has rested it should not stick to the surface at all so you don’t need to dust the surface with flour.

  12. Take hand full of dough and with a rolling pin roll it out into a circle.

  13. With a cookie cutter or medium size glass press out the circles in the dough.

  14. Add the filling onto each dough circle.

  15. Pinch both sides of the circle together and then, pinch two ends together.

  16. On a medium high heat fry dumplings about 3-5 min on each side and then cover with a lid for another few minutes.

  17. Serve with sour cream.

  18. You can freeze raw dumplings and pop them out of the freezer anytime for a quick meal without even defrosting them.
