Stuffed Cabbage Rolls
On tonight's dinner menu are stuffed cabbage rolls .😋🍽 Ok there are hundreds of different stuffed cabbage rolls recipes ,pretty much every cook makes their own recipe :) but I'm gonna share with you one of my recipes . This particular recipe I made with cubed beef but you can also make with ground beef,pork or turkey. I uploaded some step by step pics of how to throw this thing together in the comments below😋 Let's begin 🔪
2.5lbs beef (you can use pork if you like)
1.5cups rice
2 cups shredded carrots
1 large chopped onion
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 can diced tomatoes
1tsp black pepper
1.5 tbsp salt
1 beef bouillon cube
1 large or 2 small cabbage heads
1/4cup vinegar
3 tbsp butter
Start with filling a large pot with water and add vinegar to it . Remove first outer layer of leafs from the cabbage and toss them away. Place cabbage into the pot and boil for about 5-7min , cabbage should change to more yellowish color. Take is out of the water and begin with removing a core and trimming off hard stems from each leaf. Now that that out cabbage is ready let's make the filling. Cube the beef and add rice. In a frying pan on a medium high heat we are going to sautee shredded carrots,chopped onions, tomatoe paste and diced tomatoes for about 5 minutes ,then add the mixture to beef and rice . Season with salt ,pepper and crushed beef bouillon cube . Mix the filling until all the ingredients are evenly distributed . Let's start rolling ! Once all of our cabbage rolls are in the pot pour in water just enough to cover the rolls and add a tsp of tomato paste and butter. Bring water to a boil and then turn the heat to low . Cook for about 2hrs or until rolls are nice and soft but not mushy . Serve with sour cream. 🍽
